Over at Kendall’s headquarters (his ex-wife’s apartment), the usurper was ordering Greg (Nicholas Braun) to ring his grandpa, Logan’s brother and anti-capitalist Ewan Roy (James Cromwell), to get him on side. Ignoring phone calls from her father (whose contact details are saved under a picture of Saddam Hussein in her phone) and anxiously watching rolling news, it looked as though Shiv was considering switching sides. Perhaps Gerri’s instalment as CEO is why we opened episode two of season three with Shiv (Sarah Snook) zooming across Manhattan and over enemy lines towards her turncoat brother. Forced to choose a temporary successor in the wake of Kendall’s (Jeremy Strong) atom bomb of a press conference, the Roy patriarch chose not to instate one of his children, but picked Gerri (J Smith-Cameron), his trustworthy business counsel. In last week’s Succession premiere, we watched as Logan Roy’s ( Brian Cox) life fell apart around him.
